Earning my First Dollar Through Freelancing

As a student, it was really frustrating for me when I could not buy the things that I've always wanted. Sometimes I ponder of working to earn money and buy whatever stuff I want. However my parents wouldn't allow me to work in fast food chains or work as a barista coz they say that it might affect my studies; and I believed so.

Additionally, I do not fit to those jobs because I don't even know how to dish wash and admittedly I got butterfingers.

The Yearn to Earn

I was really desperate to earn money before so I've searched tons of ways to earn online. Sadly, almost all of them are scams. I've tried Clixsense, Neobux and other PTC sites but I am not good in building networks. I stopped using PTC sites because you have to click thousands of links before you can earn your first dollar. Or you can just purchase their premium package and start building down lines for your network. I don't know but networking has a negative stereotype for me.

Essays.ph

So I continued searching online until I landed on Essays.ph. EPH is a company of Filipinos who pay those who can write quality articles. It's an article writing job. I submitted my application and luckily was accepted. I spent a week before I earn my first thousand bucks. But I must admit that before earning that amount, I sacrificed hours of sleep to write those articles.

Being Underpaid

I stopped writing with EPH because even though I know to myself that my articles are at their best qualities, they keep on rejecting them. Sometimes I thought that they are just rejecting my articles but in reality, they submit those articles to their clients. But I don't know. It's just my opinion.

Moreover, I felt being underpaid in EPH. The rate when I was writing was PHP 60 per 500-word article. Every submission, there is no guarantee that you will get paid.

Overflowing Money

Days have passed and I read a blog about freelancing. Freelancing is basically a home-based job where you offer your services to different clients without a formal contract of employment. What are those services that you can render?

3. Online English Tutor
4. Translator
5. Bookkeeper
6. SQL Specialist

These are just some of the jobs that I considered. I tried article writing and I posted my advertisements in OLX.PH then I got tons of clients at higher rates! Since I was a beginner, I started offering my services from PHP 80 and now I am offering my freelance service for PHP 200 per article. Definitely freelancing is way better than outsourcing firms like EPH. Unlike in EPH, you can set your own rates and deadlines in freelancing.

How freelancing changed my lifestyle?

Freelancing really proves that earning online is possible and can be as easy if you're diligent enough to promote your skills. With freelancing, I stopped believing that you can earn money through PTC sites, CPM sites and other cumbersome ways which promise you too-good-to-be-true figures.

Before I was just an ordinary student who depend on the allowance my parents give to me. But when I started to earn online, I was able to buy new clothes, and other stuff. Not to mention, I was able to afford orthodontic braces for my teeth. 

And the best part: I am able to work and earn secretly and my parents do not know that I am working. LOL!
