Soaps and other creams are too weak for our skin to do the job of whitening. Moreover, studies show that some of the vital nutrients and ingredients of our beauty products are too huge to penetrate into our pores. These are the reasons why it takes so long for us to whiten our skin
Nonetheless, certain methods can be done to accomplish our goal to whiten our skin with instant results. One of them is through bleaching. A year ago, a friend of mine taught me a method of bleaching our skin and because of my desperateness to achieve white skin, I tried it. Never did I have second thoughts since that friend of mine is uber white! I was very satisfied with the results and I want to impart this method to help other desperate people like me to effectively whiten their skin.
So first things first, let's have a look on how much do you have to spend to bleach your skin:
Hydrogen Peroxide Volume 20 (Blue) also known as Agua Oxinada in the Philippines [Oxigenada is the right term] for $0.70 or PHP 30
All Hydrogen Peroxide will do but I strongly suggest buying the Rhea brand as this is the brand that I use and I experienced no irritation. Remember: buy the blue not the red one. The blue one is for bleaching purposes while the red one is for wounds.
One pack of Marquee White Henna $0.23 or PHP 9
This is the brand used for bleaching. White henna can be bought in selected Mercury Branches. I searched for White Henna in Laguna, and other parts of Manila but I couldn't find one. I found these stuff in Mercury Sta. Mesa, Mercury near Boni Station, and Mercury in Project 6.
One Pack of Marquee Soap Chips $0.20 or P 8
Same as with the White Henna, this can be bought in some Mercury Drugstores. However, there are times when I couldn't really find soap chips. What will I do is I will dissolve grated soaps. Any kind of soaps will do but I prefer Kojie San because it dissolves easily.
Let's compute it now: 30+9+8 is P 47.
How to Bleach Your Skin With Agua Oxinada, White Henna and Soap Chips?
1. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl. Mix it thoroughly and stop once you achieve a consistency similar to that of a cake icing.
2. Before you put it onto your skin, I suggest patch testing. To test whether you're allergic or not, apply it onto your foot and leave for 20 minutes. If you are allergic, you will have adverse reactions. But do not get confused with adverse reaction and sting. Sting is a natural reaction just like when you apply Kojic acid on your skin.
3. Use the rear part of a plastic spoon to apply it to your skin. Never use your hands to apply it.
4. Wait until it dries. I recommend leaving it not less than thirty minutes but not more than an hour. You may feel sting but this is a natural reaction. I suggest when you dry this, just stay in the bathroom because it flakes.
5. Rinse it thoroughly and body soap to remove deep-seated dried white henna solution. Results can be seen fast and upon your first wash, you may notice that your skin got 2-3 shades lighter. Pat dry your skin with a towel.
6. Moisturize. This will really make your skin dry, and it happens also to any other bleaching solutions, so it is important to put lots of lotions on your skin.
Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to our skin? That was my question before as well. White Henna, Soap Chips and Hydrogen Peroxide are really intended to be used in skin bleaching. As you read the indication of Rhea's Agua Oxigenada, it says "for bleaching purposes." Chemically it is safe but I still accentuate the importance of having patch test first. Just to remove your skepticism, I have a sensitive type of skin yet I got no adverse skin reactions from using these.
Does it have side effects?
No itchiness or redness for me. The only bad thing that I noticed is the solution makes your hair blonde. This was the reason why I shave my hair in arms.
How often can I perform this bleaching method?
I suggest every day for your first week. Every other day for your second week and 1-3 times for the subsequent weeks.
Warning
When you bleach, your skin becomes more vulnerable and more sensitive so I suggest do not stay under the sun. Use sun block, umbrella and/or other protective clothing. Use under your own risk.
Happy bleaching!
